New Coaching Team for 2015
The Auckland Sport Climbing Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Cloonan as Head Coach and Erica Gatland as Assistant Coach. Carmilla Ansin will continue as Head Coach until early March when Matt takes up his role (exact date to be confirmed). Erica will take up her role from early February. Carmilla is moving out of Auckland but remaining involved as an Auckland Climbing Club Committee member. She will also be taking over my role as the Auckland Climbing Club Coaching Coordinator. In that capacity she will continue to manage the administration side of the role for Matt (which was something I did not have the capacity to do).
Please see summaries below for Matt and Erica.
Matt Cloonan – Head Coach
Holds a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation majoring in Outdoor Education (including Rock Climbing) at AUT. 3.5 years climbing experience with a passion and commitment for focused improvement in his climbing skills. 5 years experience coaching martial arts.
