Why join?
The primary benefit of becoming an Auckland Sport Climbing member is affiliation with Climbing New Zealand “CNZ” (and by extension the International Federation of Sport Climbing “IFSC”) and eligibility to be picked for CNZ development squads and teams that may represent NZ at international competitions.
About Climbing New Zealand
CNZ is the National Sport Organisation administering Sport Climbing in New Zealand. It is a member of Sport New Zealand (Sport NZ), the IFSC and the IFSC Oceania Council for Sport Climbing (OCSC). They also have a development relationship with High-Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ). To find out more about CNZ click here Climbing NZ
CNZ run their national competitions on a season running from September to August the following year. The timing of these competitions is set to facilitate team selections in advance of the international season of climbing events within the calendar year following, where climbers will be competing in age divisions based on their age on 31 December of that calendar year.
Auckland Sport Climbing Annual Membership Fees for September 2024 to August 2025 Season
The annual fees charged by Auckland Sport Climbing are set as follows:
Annual fee, covering the CNZ competition season to August 2025 $30
This fee is set to recoup those fees charged to the club by CNZ (see below). CNZ charges Auckland Sport Climbing:
a fixed fee for affiliation of $500 per annum
a fixed fee for each member’s CNZ license for the season of $20 per annum
Please Note: When registering for a CNZ event they charge a club member fee or a larger non-club member. This is a CNZ event fee is not the Auckland Sport Climbing membership fee.
Uniforms
We’re really happy to be able to provide a new uniform for contestants to loan for wearing at CNZ events where wearing club colours is required. The uniforms can be worn at other events too.
We have a range of size options ranging from kids size 10 to adults 2XL in singlet and kids size 6 to adults 2XL in t-shirts (see photo examples).
The membership form below has a section for those that don’t have a uniform on loan already.
